Offence : According tp section 4 (1) (o) of The Code of Criminal Procedure,offence means any act or ommission made punishable by any law for the time being in force.

Classification of nature of offence : 

In view of the nature of offence , offence is divided into two parts-

1. Cognizable Offence and 
2.  Non cognizable offence
